Heres a review from your gaming lord and master, Technic.
Half Life 2. A game that you dont think too much about at first. But lets go beyond the game itself. Lets get to the innards of it, and look at the Source SDK Engine.
The Source SDK Engine surpasses alot of games you play today, and you dont even notice it! The engine is capable of thought, and can fire commands based on your actions. So if you fail to help that comrade, another comrade might act differently with you, and not trust you as much.
Now lets get back to the game. The game has 2 story lines that would normally conflict, and be totally uninteresting, but this one somehow made it through.
Zombies flood the earth, due to some regretful actions at Black Mesa. The government does its best to contain people and keep them safe. The technology is boundless. Teleportation, superweapons, and suits made for the elite few, the combine. But the underground see through the rues of the government, whos sole goal is to control each and every citizen, and do whatever they want. You play as Gordon "One Free Man" Freeman. You play alongside the cute, daunting, dangerous, and guncrazy, Alyx Vance.
But the government isnt the only one who has advances in technology. In secret, Dr. Issac Kleiner and Eli vance, have created there own technology, even surpassing the governments technology. Faster Teleportation, Better weapons, Better understanding of the power around them. And lets not forget the suit.
The suit is the only thing that allows you to survive. With its automatic antidote administering, better tollerance to extreme radiation and gravity boosts, and added protection, this thing packs a punch.
So go to steam, and download Half-Life 2. Its very good for the price, and its ever so long storyline, this game will keep you occupied for hours. And to make it last longer, up the difficulty and try again. Its also fun to play the whole game with commentary on after you beat the game, and learn more about what the programmers did to make things more fun, challenging, and even tell you about easter eggs and glitches that you will find along the way
